Your twin already knows your catalog. Everything else it knows about your shop — shipping, returns, sizing advice, what makes you different — comes from the Knowledge page in the sqrly app. You can fill it in three ways: write it yourself, import it from your store, or accept what sqrly finds about your shop on the web.
Your word wins
When two sources disagree, the twin follows a fixed order: your notes first, then your answers to shopper questions, then what was imported from your store's pages, then what was found on the web. Nothing you write is ever overruled by an imported page or a web finding.
Your notes
The "Your notes" card is for anything the twin should know that isn't on your site. Write policies, shipping, returns, FAQs and rules in plain text, one per line, under "Shop knowledge & rules" — for example, "Sizing: if a shopper is between sizes, suggest the larger one." Use "Voice & tone (optional)" to say how the twin should sound, such as "Friendly and direct. Short answers, no jargon." It stays honest and grounded either way. Click "Save notes".
Import from your store
"Import from your store" reads two things: your store policies (returns, shipping, contact and terms of sale) and your published pages (FAQ, About, size guides). It turns them into short notes for the twin. The first time, click "Allow and import" — Shopify asks you to allow "Online Store pages" and "Legal policies". No customer or order data is read, and sqrly never changes anything in your store.
After you edit a page or policy in Shopify, click "Check for updates" to bring the changes in. Entries you edited yourself in sqrly are never overwritten by a later import. Shipping rates from your Shopify settings aren't read; if your shipping policy page doesn't state them, add them to your notes.
What the web says about your shop
When you install sqrly, it searches the public web for things your twin doesn't know yet: what customers and reviewers say, your shop's story and expertise, press, and facts published elsewhere. Each finding appears under "What the web says about your shop", labeled by kind — "What customers say", "Your story", "Press", "Fact" or "About a product" — and linked to where it was found. A "Please check" badge marks findings worth a second look.
For each finding, choose:
- "Accept" — the twin knows it from now on.
- "Edit" — fix the wording, then "Save and accept".
- "Dismiss" — it's dropped, and won't be suggested again.
Nothing from the web is used until you accept it. "Search again" runs a new search any time, and you can turn off the automatic search at install with "Search the web automatically when sqrly is installed".
Managing what your twin knows
Every answer and note is listed at the bottom of the Knowledge page, filed by topic and linked to the products it's about. Search it, or filter by "Your answers", "From your store", "From the web" or "Not used". Open any entry to "Edit" it. Imported and web entries can be switched off with "Don't use" (and back on with "Use again"); your own answers can be removed with "Remove".
Keep prices, stock and offers out
The twin reads prices, stock and your current offers live from your store every time it answers. Don't write them into your notes or answers: a price or a discount code saved in knowledge goes stale the day it changes, while the live version never does. Write what stays true instead — what fits whom, how a product runs, what to ask the shopper first.
As shoppers ask questions your twin can't answer, they land on the same page for you to answer once. See The knowledge map and open questions.
